The motive for Imam Al-Shaarani to write it was “what he saw of the brothers’ frequent searching for what was missing from their worldly affairs. I did not see any of them searching for what was missing from the affairs of his religion except a few. So, my faith-based zeal for them and their religion took me, so I wrote them this book that alerts every person to what was missing from the affairs of his religion. So whoever among the brothers wants to know what has been lost from his religion, let him look at every covenant that I mentioned to him in this book and reflect on himself. He will know with certainty what he has neglected from the rulings of his religion, so he will begin to make up for it or regret and seek forgiveness if it is not possible to make up for it.”
